My Sisters and Brothers, compiled for release by Joe Gastwirt Mastering, features musical personnel from the various incarnations of the Jerry Garcia Band from 1976 to 1990. Though he disavowed the role, Garcia was viewed by many as the leader or 'spokesman' of the group. The cops were outa control - anyone remember E. Jerome John 'Jerry' Garcia (Aug August 9, 1995) was an American singer-songwriter and guitarist best known for his work with the band the Grateful Dead, which came to prominence during the counterculture era in the 1960s. They were getting too big and said very clearly that the music comes first. But remember in around 89-90 the band had to actually come out and straight up say don't come if you don't have a ticket. Now of course deadheads aren't quite as idiotic. People were smashing bottles against his tombstone - we got run out of there fast. But I happened to be near his burial as I was in Paris in the early 90s. Yes Jerry thought Jim and his band were LA lame asses. I have something in common with Jerry (among other things such as our indistinguishable guitar playing). Sane? At least smart enough to realize that his burial site would become some hippie shrine and cause problems with the cops - basically be a horrible thing IMO. In almost no circumstances do I see it as a proper burial.īut I know, as did Garcia and just about anyone else with a brain can imagine the horror both for Jerry RIP and the sane deadheads.
